The Evolution Of Skateboard Culture In Singapore
Skateboarding was not well accepted in the early years of Singapore as it was perceived as a hobby that rebellious kids would pick up and play around the neighbourhood.
Skateboarding is being recognized as an integral part of youth culture in Singapore now.
Singapore National Youth Council and National Parks Board are building more Skate Parks around the neighbourhoods.
We can see adults accepting it as a Youth Sports unlike the past.
Skating indeed requires skills and it can be a dangerous sports when youths performance dangerous tricks.
Nevertheless, it is amazing that many of them are able to pick up the skills and learn from one another at Skate Parks.
We can also see how they make friends through this new Sports Culture in Singapore.
