Runners of the NFL's all-time ideal team revealed
Jim Brown and Walter Payton were unanimously chosen as runner for the all-time NFL team.
As part of its centenary season celebration, the league announced the first part of the team this Friday night. A panel of 26 voters is in charge of choosing the team.
Two coaches, Paul Brown and Bill Belichick, were also selected. Eight more trainers will be chosen during the next month.
Along with Brown and Payton in the backfield are also members of the Hall of Fame, Emmitt Smith, historic leader in yards on land; Marion Motley; Barry Sanders; Steve Van Buren; Gale Sayers; Earl Campbell; Lenny Moore; O.J. Simpson; Eric Dickerson; and Dutch Clark.
It's great to be with the legend," Smith said about joining Brown on the team. "The man who inspired so many other players to come after him. He opened the way for many of us, passed the courier to Walter Payton and many others. He set the standard quite high.
In total, 100 players will form the team.
