France Ligue 1: Monaco v Lyon - Bet(10/08/19)

This is the first opening fixture of 2019/20 French Ligue 1 season. The guest, Lyon played very well in Ligue 1 last season, with the team finishing in 3rd on the league rankings, to book a tickets for the Uefa Champions League group stage. This is also a gift that coach Bruno Genesio left for Lyon before parting ways with ''Le Grones'' to manage Chinese club, Beijing Guoans. After the departure of Genesio, Lyon had a rather risky substitute when appointing the former Barcelona and Celta Vigo left-back, Sylvinho, who had once work as the assistant manager of the Brazilian national team, alongside Tite.

However, the former Barcelona and Celta Vigo star has being struggling in the early days of his coaching career, in which it has reflected in Lyon's poor results in the last friendly fixtures. In the last 5 matches, "Les Grones" lost 4 games, with just a single victory. Fortunately, with these negative results, the board still seems to have enough confidence on the new coach. In this summer transfer window, Lyon sold out their stars in the defense, but they were able to bring in yet another quality defenders like Youssouf Koné and Joachim Andersen, from Losc Lille and Sampdoria.

In addition, Lyon retained their key attacking players like Memphis Depay, Moussa Dembele and Bertrand Traore, and with such a roster still in their midst, Lyon will be confident enough to aim for the first three points in Ligue 1 this season when coming to Monaco.

Last season, Monaco only played better than the three relegation teams. They simply did not have much improvement in the transfer last summer. Therefore, Monaco can't really prove to be too difficult for Lyon to handle in this opening round.
