Juan Mata: I'm glad Manchester United signed this two talented duo's
After finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided to shift his attention on bringing in young talented players in the transfer market in an effort to claim a Champions League spot next season. Daniel James went to Old Trafford with a £15m deal from Swansea City, followed shortly after by Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace for about £50m. The young lads have been training with the first team and leaving positive imprints, and most especially on Juan Mata who had this to say about them:
You can see that they excel from the first moment, both of them have qualities worth waiting for. Wan-Bissaka played extremely well in the previous Premier League season, and James also did great things at Swansea. Hope they can give us a lot of things next season. This duo is very important because they are very young and rich in their desire to contribute to the club.
Mata, who signed a new two-year contract with the Red Devils, was happy to be able to stand side by side with young and talented teammates.
"I have to say that they are very good people first," Mata added. “When you are their age, you may have other thoughts, maybe star sickness. But instead they show that they are very calm and humble. I really like their personality. That's why they are here. [Solskjaer] knows that in a team that needs balance, you need a combination of young players and more experienced players."
Manchester United will have their first friendly match against Perth at 7pm on July 13.
