The two new boys in the Chelsea shirt, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell, will likely miss the start of the season due to injuries. According to the English media, The former Ajax man, Ziyech got a sprained knee and had to be replaced after 54 minutes of play in Chelsea's training match against Brighton on 29 August. Chilwell is still struggling with a heel injury he sustained before switching to the London club.
However, the other new signings, Kai Havertz, Timo Werner should be in full swing and ready to make their Premier League debut when Chelsea face Brighton away on 14 September. Christian Pulisic should also have recovered from his injury, which he suffered in the FA Cup final against Arsenal.
After spending almost £1.9 billion in this transfer window, Chelsea are hoping to get off to a good start in the new Premier League season. It is hoped to close the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool, who have been dominant in recent seasons.
