Ben Simmons becomes the richest Athlete in Australia as he signed a huge deal with the 76ers
Hello everyone, it’s another great day. I’m here today again with another latest NBA gist as I’ve promised to do always. So sit back, relax with a bowl of cheese and a little glass of champagne while you entertain yourselves with my post.
Today’s post is not about the Lakers but the American professional Basketball Team named Philadelphia 76ers, also popularly known as the “Sixers” and their point guard “Ben Simmons” who is now the richest athlete in Australia as he recently agrees to sign a huge five years deal of $A242m contract with an expected 170m US Dollars.
His agent was the first to declare on Monday that he had accepted the offer and the deal is said to start on the coming 20-21 season as the Small forward will be earning $41.5 in the first year and will be increasing yearly till the last season of the agreed year stated in the contract.
With this huge deal, Ben Simmons has left behind the likes of Aussie Patty Mills who earned close to $70m in his entire NBA career and Aussie Andrew Bogut who also earned about $167.7m in his career among the richest.
As a result of this new deal, it’s not certain that the NBA All-Star player would participate in the coming August to September World Cup game in China, as well as in Melbourne and in which his absence will be vividly felt in the game.
He was expected to play for the boomers and win a medal at the World Cup until he signed the huge five years contract with the Sixers, which makes his appearance in the coming games a doubtful one.
However, as to the effect of this deal, Simmons will be leading an Australians filled team and will be playing with the likes of Aron Baynes, Jonah Bolden, Mills and Bogut to mention few and I hope to see him worthy of this huge deal in the coming games.
