In the nearest future, the Ballon d'Or Space will be thrown open again or will start seeing new names as favorites to win the biggest individual award in football. Lots of young players have been predicted as the contenders for that future, and they can't wait for Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to bow out of the show after dominating the space for more than a decade.

For now, the French Young Star Kylian Mbappe who is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain appears the favorite to bag the Prize, especially with age looking face to face into the eyes of Ronaldo and Messi. The Portuguese captain have the award Five times so far and The Argentine Captain have won same so far. However, they are indications that the Barcelona captain may win it for the sixth time after having an amazing club season. Though some major trophies eluded him, the Argentine have been individually spectacular ahead of his likes.

You still have some other young players like Neymar Jr of Brazil who many still believes have what it takes to bag the Ballon d'Or in the future. However, his recent Career circle have created doubts of such possibility. With Eden Hazard making a huge move to the Santiago Bernabeu, the Belgium Captain and former Chelsea Best Player has also been tipped as a contender for the award in the nearest future. Mohammed Salah of Egypt isn't left out of these as the Liverpool star man has been hovering around that level in recent times.

Barcelona Have Got Something To Worry About?

The rivalry between Barcelona and Los Blancos on who is the king of Spanish football is that which has existed for decades now. Apart from their duel on the pitch of football, these two giants have also been rubbing shoulders when it comes to signing top players. While Barcelona may have beaten Real Madrid to the signature of Neymar, Los Blancos seems the likely club to sign Kylian Mbappe in no distant time. With Zidane back at the Club after Ronaldo's absence left a big vacuum and affected the team's general performance in the past season, the quest to land the best players in the World by Madrid has been on the high.

There have been rumours that Real Madrid have agreed to sign the French Wonder Kid and Kylian Mbappe's refusal to extend his contract at PSG points only to one direction, and that's a possible move to The Santiago Bernabeu in the nearest future. Before now, many had thought the PSG star boy would find his way to the Camp Nou as Messi's successor, especially with the Argentine having advised the Catalan to sign the Striker. However, it seems like that won't be happening as Barcelona President seems more concerned in bringing Neymar back to the Club. With Eden Hazard already in Zidane's squad, an addition of Mbappe could see Madrid reclaim Spanish football dominance from Barcelona.

The Argentine captain is growing old and will soon start diminishing in impact, without a likely replacement to hold up the team the way he has done for the past decade could spell doom for the Club and of course give Madrid a chance to overshadow them. Florentino Perez seems awakened to revert to his usual Galactico signing culture, and trust me, he has got Mbappe as his priority. Though he is also interested in landing Neymar, but the Brazilian posture so far have indicated that Barcelona are more likely to get him back. The Brazilian has proven to be tough catch for Los Merengues, but I don't see him losing out on Mbappe.

Though Barcelona have made some signings so far to boost Ernesto Valverde's squad including the huge move of Antoine Grizemann from Athletico Madrid, the Club needed someone that will be able to shoulder the team when Messi is away, and Kylian Mbappe's would have been the best option in my view. The French Wonder kid's contract is set to expire in 2022 and Madrid are not leaving any stone unturned in their pursuit for his signature. It's something Barcelona fans should be worried about, because we all know what Madrid will be capable of doing when he arrives and Messi beginning to diminish in strength.
