Anthony Joshua and the Tactics of Jab And Clutch

So i have waited for so long trying to hold back on writing about the rematch between Anthony Joshua AJ as he is popularly called and Andy Ruiz Jr but it seems i have to write about it after all. After getting the news that AJ has reclaimed his title by defeating Ruiz who knocked him out technically in round 7 back then in June i went back to look at the two videos to analyse the technicallities behind the two fight. Before i go into the analysis of the fight lets look at the two fighters critically.

Andy Ruiz an American professional boxer of Mexican decent who has fought 34 matches winning 33 and losing just 1 before the rematch and out of the the 33 he worn 22 were by KOs which goes to show that he is not a push over and should be respected. Andy Ruiz does not have much footworks and almost does not move around much i am guessing is because of his size and physique but has a deadly fist anf fast hands with which he can throw combinations.

On the other hand Anthony Joshua is a british boxer with Nigerian decent who has risen to limelight before his defeat to Andy Ruiz as a fast boxer with footworks. he before the first fight has had 22 fights without a defeat and 21 KO he is seen as a complete boxer because he has both fast hands and footwork. but one thing that was evident in the first fight was that AJ could not take a blow and that distabilized him which lead to the Knockout in round 7.

After the first match a lot of people would think that it was the end for AJ but there are takeaways from that particular match which if Anthony was an intelligent boxer he would work on. and like i saw and pointed AJ caught all the takeaways expecially in round three where he had one better on Ruiz in the match in Maddison square and applied them in the rematch and it worked out perfectly.

Mobility
When Aj moved quickly in the third round of the first match it was hard for Ruiz to get to him because he is not the boxer that moves fast with his feet and so AJ movement was a problem for him. and then comes the jabs from distances which distablized Ruiz and made him impatient exposing him to take more blows from AJ.

The Clutch
Interestingly people did not notice the second tactics of the match which fustrated the mexican. Any time AJ misses with his right hand which tends to throw him off balance he clutches on Ruiz hinderimg him from executing his own strength which was the left hand right hand combination which he has worked on to perfection.

In the end the winner of the rematch did that due to attaention to details of the previous match.
