Competition is one of the natural needs of every person, in any environment, there is always that feeling of wanting to be better than others, in the family, at school, at work, but where it is truly healthy to show that you are the best is in sport, whether it is basketball, baseball or better still in athletics where there is a great diversity of discipline.

This week we were active in sports, and we were organizing an event to promote athletics in the La Salina Stadium, but this time accompanied by obstacles which we dispersed on an improvised track. This is the first event of obstacle races that we have done, and therefore, we only placed a few and with little difficulty so that the contestants or athletes are confident and safe to overcome them.

For this competition, teams of 4 people were formed (two women and two men). The track had a route of 500 mts where the departure would begin with a sprint of 100 flat meters until arriving at the first test of effort, to raise an estimated tire of 50 kgs and to take it towards a point of unloading which was going to be returned by another member of the team, this test was carried out in two simultaneous stations, in a channel the men and by the other the women.

The second test was totally as a team, where one of the members will be on top of a structure which will advance as the others move until they reach a stopping point where they must be returned but with another team member on top of the structure. This activity deserves the attention and audacity of the whole team to advance without the athlete who is on top of the structure falling.

The third test is basic, a rope which they will have to jump without touching it, it is something simple but in this opportunity the wind played a bad trick on some competitors, because the rope was moving, making the athletes lose the continuity in the race. From there, they went directly to the ramps, jumping over them without being able to touch the ground was one of the obstacles that made it difficult for the athletes to develop, many did not have the skill to jump over them without falling to the ground, in the attached video you can see two of the participants had a mishap to overcome this test.

The competition continued with a wall which had to be overcome by the central part of the obstacle, then came the basketing part where each athlete of the team had to put a tire in a vertical tube to reach the next balance station where they had to need their calm to overcome it, a pipe 3 inches wide and 3 meters long, to finish with a fast race of 50 meters to reach the goal.

The participation surpassed any expectation, 14 teams were able to form to be part of the competitors willing to show their abilities, for that reason, we committed to plan and program another event soon but with a greater difficulty in the obstacles, there are few images that I could take with my camera because I was part of the judges that had to follow each participant of each team with responsibility.
