Sometimes I wonder what determines David Luiz's loyalty to a football club, that's if he understands what loyalty means by all means, I see him as a player who dares to go or dares to pull off the impossible when it comes to attacking wise like scoring impossible goal however I really do not see him as an exceptional defender. Paris Saint-Germain wouldn't really call him an icon for their football club neither will Chelsea and now that he is currently as Arsenal is it a certainty that he will definitely retire at the Emirates Stadium? is there really a sense of loyalty to David Luiz. When you look at ethics and sportsmanship this is something David Luiz lacks as a player. I can remember vividly years ago when Paris Saint-Germain knocked out Chelsea from the group stages of the Champions League and the goal was scored by David Luiz and how he madly celebrated and this hurt the Chelsea faithfuls then but they forgot all about it and fast forward to when he returned back to stamford bridge he was wonderfully welcome back as a player who was loved by the fans.

What baffles me is that I'll still rate players like Francesc Fabregas ahead of him despite not staying too long at the bridge when it comes to being a Chelsea icon and all I could really apportion to him is the lazy defending and the inability to give his all for his team. However I am not talking about his personality as a human being which i basically feel is exceptional and second to none. I desperately feel that sometimes football players shouldn't really see the game as a means to an end because sometimes it goes beyond the big money and the endorsement deals which entails moving from one place to another. In my opinion people support football just because of the emotion and the passion (Liverpool haven't won't the league in More than two decades yet they still have fans, it's the Passion) that comes with it, but if a player that we are paying to watch doesn't even show this passion then what do we get from watching such a person play football?

The unceremonious manner through which he left Chelsea was definitely the most compromising transfer since the Roman Abramovich era and leaving to join a rival side in North London proved he wanted to rub it in Chelsea's faces and also was also to boost his ego as a top player which he feels he is and in turn bruising Chelsea's ego. This is a mild mind game that many people never even think about. I know many people might feel that David Luiz's choice should be respected and I agree but should you decide to leave a club just because the manager's idea going forward wasn't to field you in every game? When we critically survey this situation, it looks like a no brainer and why is this? First of all nobody would directly leave a football club for another club that hardly wins trophies no disrespect to The Gunners, I am also sure he took the easy way out because he really didn't get any bid from any top team instead of staying in a team that was banned from transfers and fighting for his place. Who does this? It goes against player's sportsmanship and for him to retire without having a club that'll call him their legend is a testament to how he doesn't understand the meaning of loyalty.

For what it's worth, his shambolic display at Arsenal is a testament to the average Defender he seems, we all know him for his theatrics and never for one day has he been boed on the pitch. However the main basis of this content is to emphasize the essence of true character to a football club, John Terry is one of the greatest Defender the English Premier League will ever have and at one time in his career he's had to sit on the bench for the younger ones to play, taking responsibility for being a father figure Factor in the dressing room. David Luiz is currently 31 if I am not mistaken so I wonder what he's got to go out to prove at another club, he's past his prime and even if he wanted playing time all he would have done is to get a mid-table team in the English Premier League which would give him playing time but obviously he really isn't seeking to get that playing time but to just get on the nerves of the Stamford Bridge faithfuls by moving to a rival club not that he would add any impact but just to rub it in their faces. What childishness!

In conclusion; it's classic David Luiz and this is beyond anger that he left the bridge. He really wouldn't walk into the cobhams training session and will trend on Twitter or somewhere, neither will he get a banner at the shed end whenever he's visiting Stamford Bridge because he has been recorded for an infamous personality; As a footballer, one should embody more than ego and pride and theatrics or self aggrandizement. It's the more that comes with game that makes it passionate and beautiful to watch.
