Ross Barkley is a footballer that most people find very difficult to understand of course while playing for the three lions he seems a different kettle of fish and of course while playing for Chelsea he is just another player and the times he played for Everton he just seemed like a different player as well as at that particular time, when he first came to Chelsea it was considered a steal. He was the box to box guy, always that force behind the striker, the Gerald-esque kind of midfielder who could create a goal out of nothing in a 4-4-2or 4-2-3-1 formation as well. And of course playing for the three lions of England he's almost a starter in every game. One can't help but wonder why Ross Barkley has become so bad over the years and it definitely still baffles me as to how he makes the English team each and every time it comes to international Duty.

It is often said that with game-time players become efficient and confidence on the ball as well as gather experience, under Antonio Conte he was just an average player despite showing promises of the player he might become at Everton. Looking at some of his old clips he has audacious confidence when it comes to scoring from 30 or 40 yards out and he wasn't shy of doing this. He obviously had the go-ahead from his manager in Everton then and from what I have seen he has been given the Lampard role in The Frank Lampard Chelsea's team and even his ability to complete a pass seems a problem, his overzealousness to dribble his opponents becomes a problem for his teammates especially when it comes to losing the ball in a promising position for the opponent, infact in the current EPL campaign he loses the ball more than three times in a match and there is a certain kind of restlessness that is associated with Barkley and currently he's the most underperforming midfielder in the EPL and not just Chelsea.

His recent penalty miss against Valencia in the Champions League raises more concerning questions as to how this man performed so well in the pre-season and yet currently doing so badly, is it that he has no competition or Would this be considered a psychological weakness or mental stress? Or perhaps the player deserves a long rest or maybe holiday? I'm currently not saying that no player is capable of a penalty miss but you should have seen Barkley's body language and how he reacted he seems like a player new to a league, new to a football pattern and formation and of course currently his penalty duties have been stripped and given to the Italian Jorginho. His confidence dwindles in every game and he is currently not repaying the faith that the Chelsea manager has placed on him.

Chelsea are currently undergoing a transfer ban and this was the period which the Englishman could have cemented his position in the team but he is currently taking his chances for granted, it seems as if the coach is even showing preference to him rather than the others that should play in his position example a player like Kovacic is being denied playing time because Frank Lampard is looking for that player that could mirror him and his shooting abilities from range and he saw this in Ross Barkley. In my opinion this sentimentality is the reason why Chelsea still keep performing a little bit not up to standard. It might be that Barclay isn't really designed to be a big team player because there are so many people all over the league and in the world who could perform so well when it comes to the small things but can hardly do well when it comes to transferring to a bigger team and it's currently pathetic situation for the number eight at Stamford Bridge. Without a doubt and timeless period given to this man to impress, I think I have lost faith in him and if I was the English national manager or the Chelsea football manager the player needs to find time to be rehabilitated the cost for a player who showed enormous prospect he is currently becoming a waste for all I know.
