The Woeful Performance Of English Teams In The Champions League, How Has Liverpool Fallen Short?

Liverpool's were yesterday expectedly beaten by a well organised Athletico Madrid and it wasn't on away goals but by an aggregate 4-2 and honestly if there was any positive teams should learn from this, it's how to genuinely beat Liverpool, compact defence, very steady Midfield and gifted strikers. Liverpool has overestimated their worth and Jurgen Klopp is a huge culprit to be honestly Atletico Madrid is a team that doesn't get cowed by an team and this was proven when they famously beat Chelsea 3:0 at Stamford bridge. I believed thoroughly that athletico Madrid was going to beat Liverpool and this is because Liverpool has been on a downward spiral since their 3 match loosing streak and even if we'd laud Liverpool for being resilient.
They have been chasing the EPL title for more than four years of coming close and they're almost within reach. I actually saw a few clips and how Yan Oblak again showed heroics by coming up with nine saves to deny the likes of Mohamed Salah. In essence Liverpool have done well this Season but sincerely they've achieved this by blowing away teams as a result of their outrageous attacking football, their blistering free kicking abilites from the likes of Alexander Trent as well. But Athletico Madrid is the opposite of Liverpool and this is credit to Diego Someone compact style of play. They're direct, slow on the ball, very fiersome and they defend as a unit and the fact that Liverpool are tired from a long season is one reason why I believed Liverpool would never overturn the 1;0 deficit.
Without a doubt Liverpool's season has been amazing because they've virtually blown away teams either by book or crook, in some of the controversial decisions that's been currently going their way in the EPL campaign, let's not forget this. However i simply feel that they might not replicate this feat next season and this is because their loss in recent games might have just given a clue to teams in the EPL on how to beat Liverpool. Tire them out, make the ball boring, don't play them one on one, defend well and try to hold the ball More and try not to lose it in compromising positions It of course sounds like a really cunning and backward tactics but Atletico Madrid are not just boring they're gifted with good scorers of the ball and the likes of Fernando Torres hasn't still lost.
Most of the English teams are out of this season's champions league and Chelsea might be following soon, this is a testament of the fact that the English teams are not living up to expectations and if Liverpool who's leading the EPL submit with like a 15-point gap could be beaten by Atletico Madrid then it shows how badly the EPL teams have really turned out this current campaign. In essence it's been a trying year for EPL top teams in general as Liverpool has managed to blow away every team in their quest or journey to winning the EPL. In essence Liverpool has shown that their reign might be short lived because they've not shown depth in squad and when injuries hits a major player in the team this might be the beginning of their demise.
