The NBA misses Yao Ming

Houston we have a problem, surely it was the words of the directors of the Rockets when Yao Ming announced his retirement in July 2011.

Despite retiring several years ago and just playing only 8 seasons in the NBA, this huge Chinese player is missed in the league, but who misses him most is his fans of the Rockets. His team has James Harden who for me is the best offensive player in the history of that organization but so far they have not had a Pivot that exceeds the numbers or the size of the Chinese who played years ago in this squad.

Participating in 5 occasions in the All Star, his third participation did it with a record of 2,558,278 votes, leaving behind Shaquille O'Neal obtained 2,488,089 votes, the second largest figure in history, The previous record was held by Michael Jordan , which in 1997 obtained 2,451,136 votes.

For the NBA he was a strong influencer in his country because when he first played against fellow countryman Yi Jialian of Milwaukee Buck, that meeting was broadcast on almost 20 television networks in China, being watched by more than 200 million people who were inside from the borders of the People's Republic, creating a historical footprint in the NBA being the most watched game in all history.

Off the court he was very famous recognized by the meme that was created with his rustro when the brand new player was smiling, this image went around the world making him more known than he already was. Also when a reporter from the United States made an article saying that Yao can be an experiment of the government of China to create super athletes, of course we all know well that all that was speculation nothing more.

Unfortunately, his continued injuries drove him away from the courts with only 30 years of age, a short career as a basketball player but leaving a very large legacy for his country.

Today Yao Ming is missed.
