Arsenal sacked Unai Emery after 18 months in charge, proving the difficulty of planning to succeed Arsene Wenger.

Manchester United, the bitter taste of this experience, after Sir Alex Ferguson retired from training after 26 years, to deteriorate the results of the team, at the hands of several coaches who succeeded him in the post.

Arsenal are in the same experience after Emery was appointed to succeed Wenger. The result was a series of disappointing results at all levels, which eventually led to the dismissal of the Spaniard.

Emery failed in everything, despite some bright moments, such as playing 22 games in a row without defeat, or reaching the final of the European Championship, before the humiliating loss to Chelsea.

It can be said that all the shortcomings of the team have remained the same since the arrival of Emery, who could not cure one thing.

Annoying facts

Arsenal's recent statistics are painful, missing the last seven wins in the tournament, their worst record since February 1992 under coach George Graham.

Another proof that things have not changed is that Emery has accumulated 88 points in 51 Premier League appearances, the same number as Wenger has scored in his last 51 appearances for London.

The Spanish coach left Arsenal in eighth place, 19 points behind leaders Liverpool, and eight points behind the Champions League.
