After nine years: a turning point in Wright's murder case

Just last week, nine years have passed since former NBA player Lorenzen Wright was shot to death, and now a new twist has taken place. According to reports in the United States, the former wife of basketball player Sarah Wright took responsibility for the act and confessed to first-degree murder, defense lawyer Johnny Ganguli said the facts were established and the defense agreed.

Sarah Wright was scheduled to stand trial this September for first-degree murder, but the judge who ran the case, Lee Coffey, told her that if she pleaded guilty, she could be released after 30 percent of the original sentence, nine years in prison instead of 30 years. Now the defendant, who said she took drugs for anxiety and depression, seems to have agreed to the deal and pleaded guilty.

Wright played 13 years in the NBA after being voted seventh in the 1996 draft by the Clippers and has since also worn Atlanta, Memphis, Sacramento, and Cleveland. According to the police, Wright was shot dead on July 19, early in the morning, while he was in Memphis and visited his six children. On June 22, his mother reported his absence and his body was found on July 28.

After a long and seven-year investigation, in November 2017, Wright's gun was discovered and it was discovered that his ex-wife had allegedly initiated his murder to win his $ 1 million life insurance. A month later, she was charged with first-degree murder and was arrested along with her friend Billy Turner, who was a priest in the church where the Wright couple prayed and was accused of carrying out her plot to shoot the basketball player. Now, as noted, there has been a turning point in the affair.

Very sad sorry. Its great to see that justice was finally done by arresting the killers regardless of the many years spent making investigations of the case.
