Thoughts: Arsenal Vs Man-U Showdown

This season has been quite able to provoke the emotions of fans, especially those of top teams. From shocking losses to enthralling victories, it has never gone out of this range. And to all, the teams in the title race could be all but two, Liverpool and Manchester City. With the former being the favourite although the latter are back to back champions.

The battle for top four? Well, that becomes a whole lot more competitive with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham all vying for a spot. Arsenal maybe contenders in this race and they could even be real contenders if their defensive lapses are not corrected. Manchester United need to be more aggressive going forward, they are all lethargic when it comes to finding the net, especially the kind that can guarantee them a win. Chelsea? They just are not lucky, they are increasingly getting better following their 4-0 loss to Manchester United on the opening day of the season. And Tottenham just are not synchronising at the moment.

With Arsenal and Manchester United in an imminent clash, who will come out Victorious? Arsenal have a good striking force, they get the goals forward, and similarly they concede a lot at the back. Their woes at the back is just as good as their goals at the front, if they were okay at the back, they may as well be title contenders but then, we could only hope they get their sh*t together before they find themselves in an unfavourable position in the highly competitive league.

Manchester United don't have it going at the moment. Their problem is not taking each opportunity with seriousness. Apart from their first game of the season against Chelsea, they have not really impressed their fans. They've only caused anguish, sorrow and calls for the immediate sack of their coach. Even Jose Mourinho had his fair share of laughs at the club. But they shouldn't be written off just yet. They have all it takes, provided they become more disciplined. They could even take this match as a positive reply to their Miseries, an action which would bode well for the coach's position.

History have it in Manchester United's favour. Arsenal and Manchester United have met 231 times over the years and Man-U came out Victorious 97 times, drawing 51 and losing 83. Man-U may get a goal or two even with their lethargic striking force because of Arsenal's defensive woes but I see Arsenal winning or at least drawing this. Owning to recent stats, the tide is in their favour. But it is football, anything can happen.

2-1 to Arsenal.
