Nigeria moves up to 33rd in latest FIFA ranking

After a successful campaign at the African cup of nations that was just concluded in Egypt the super eagles of Nigeria moved up to 33rd place in the latest FIFA world ranking after finishing third in the Afcon claiming the bronze medal in the competition.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria climbed 12 places from their 45th position in June, accruing 1481 points after it was released for month of July on Thursday.

The Super Eagles, however, remain third in Africa behind Senegal who won the silver medal in the continental tournament in Egypt and Tunisia who finished fourth in the competition.

Though the super eagles of Nigeria lost two games in the just concluded Afcon tournament losing one in the group stage to Madagascar and the other match in the semi final to Algeria that saw them claim in the third place medal against Tunisia in Egypt.

The reigning champions of Africa, the desert foxes of Algeria however, moved up 28 places to 40th position and fourth in Africa.
