World Champion PV Sindhu meets PM Modi, receives Rs 10 lakh cheque from Kiren Rijiju

PV Sindhu World Champion of badminton from India met with Prime minister Modi on Tuesday and received a cheque of 10 Lac from the sports minister Kiren Rijiju after winning the BWF World Championships gold.

In 2013 and 2014 edition She won a bronze middle each and two silver medal but after a long wait finally, she won the 5th medal and this one is Gold medal with a maiden World Championship title.

Sindhu is now the joint highest medal-winner in women’s singles in the World Championships history with former Olympic champion Zhang Ning of China, who won also won 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze between 2001 and 2007
