AFL Finals: And we're down to 2!

in #sportstalklast year

What an exciting weekend of finals football! Both of the prelim matches seesawed and were played as finals footy should, tough and full of intensity. And both matches came down to the wire.

Richmond VS Geelong

On Friday night, the Richmond Tigers went up against the Geelong Cats. By the end of the first half, the Cats were well on top, leading by 21 points. But the Tigers turned it on in the second half, with 5 consecutive goals in the third quarter, they had turned a half time deficit to taking the lead. And although the Cats tried to fight back, they were ultimately outplayed, and the Tigers were through to their second grand-final in 3 years. Tom Lynch kicked 5 goals for the Tigers in a dominant display, and could be the key again in the grand-final.

Collingwood VS GWS

On Saturday night, we had another thriller, with the Collingwood Magpies hosting the GWS Giants. Up to half time, the contest was fairly even, in a low scoring half that only saw 5 goals. But like the Tigers, the Giants turned it on in the third quarter, kicking 5 goals to 0. And by the start of the final term, the Giants were leading by 33 points.

However, the match had another twist, with Collingwood putting on 4 consecutive goals, and almost pinching the match. In the final minutes, Collingwood had a chance to win the match with two shots that narrowly missed. And by the end of the match, the GWS Giants survived a scare to progress through to their first ever grand-final, and for the second week in a row, upset the favorites by less than a goal.

Greetings @nextgen622,

Please make sure you look at the replies below @jdbry's posts in the past several days.

Do you know other believers that would be interested in showing support for having Verse of the Day in our feed.

Any other solutions?

Thanks for letting me know. I just read the comments and I do agree the posts are very brief. However, my vote is only a result of following the @christian-trail account. I have withdrawn support for the trail now.

Thank you for your kind reply @nextgen622,

Apologies for troubling you.
