Romelu Lukaku is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a striker for the Belgium national team and also English premier league club; Manchester United.
As a teenager Lukaku was unable to make a first-team breakthrough at Chelsea, this forced him out on loan before an eventual permanent departure to Everton and then Manchester United grabbed him from everton.
Lukaku moved to United from Everton at the time he was only the fourth player to score 80 goals in the Premier League before turning 24 - after Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler and Wayne Rooney.
He left Everton for old Trafford two years ago for a record fee of £75m, and his short stay at United was also characterized with 42 goals in 96 games.
In addition to the £140m spent on Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Angel Gomes this summer, Lukaku’s departure now leaves united with just three forward ; Alexis Sanchez, Anthony Martial and Rashford alongside introduction of youngsters like Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood and Angek Gomes.
Inter Milan succeeded in signing the Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku from Manchester United in a deal that cost a club record fees of 80m euros also equivalent to £74m which is going to span for five years.
Although, the 26-year-old was earlier linked with a move to another Serie A side - Juventus - earlier in the transfer window with a swap deal of Paulo Dybala but it didn’t fell through as Manchester united couldn’t agree to the excessive wages demand of the player.
Lukaku's time in England seems to be book-ended by disappointment as he struggled for form during the last season, Lukaku's tallies 113 goals in the Premier League and his new club transfer fees makes him the third most expensive signing by a Serie A club.
