Start of the rugby world cup. Ireland v Scotland.
It's here at last. While the official start was Japan two days ago this is the most important game for us. We have a group with Japan, Scotland, Russia and Tonga. One that we should qualify from and realistically be first in. The main obstacle is going to be this game against Scotland. A team we are used to playing and have lost to plenty times as well. Japan are an interesting prospects that beat South Africa in the last world cup and have already one win to their name. Ireland should be well able for them and the other two won't feature at all.
With the world cup being played in Japan, all of the matches are going to be early ones and even had to set the alarm for 8am to watch this first one. Wouldn't have been too bad if I wasn't out for a few pints last night. Normally for big events the plan would be to watch them in the pub with a few pints and a great atmosphere but it doesn't look like that will be the case for this one. Wouldn't mind a few but it's a bit early and I don't live in the city any more so there is nowhere to go and watch it apart from relaxing at home.
So in that case it's going to have to be option B for Irish people and have a cup of tea instead. Now I feel ready for kick off and hopefully a big win as the second team in the group will end up against the All-blacks in the quarter finals.
This is the team for the first match. Some interesting calls and with Toner left behind i'm not that happy with our lineout and Ringrose is very weak in midfield. Apart from that Ireland has a very strong team with a lot of attacking pace so there should be tries today. % minutes to go so lets do this.
