Weights: 12th June 2020 + A Did You Know Question

Good Morning

Today I got up around 4:50 a.m., and if I can get up even earlier, then I am close to my running schedule. With the lockdown downgraded to partial, I am seriously considering running. I have heard from fellow runners that running with the mask is a tedious affair, not to mention unhealthy. So, I will have to take a call on that.

Anyway, I will update as and when I start running. For the moment, though, let’s look at my exercise regime.

Yesterday evening my daughter and I did the longer version of the exercise. Here is it how it looks:

  1. Warm-up: About a minute
  2. Suicide-drill: 2 Sets
  3. Shuttle-run: 1 set with four reps
  4. Jumping-jacks
  5. Wall-sits
  6. Push-ups
  7. Crunches
  8. Step-ups
  9. Squats
  10. Tricep Dip
  11. Planks
  12. High Knees
  13. Lunges
  14. Push-ups and Rotation
  15. Side Planks – each side

As I had mentioned before, each one lasts 30-seconds, and we take a 10-second break between the exercises. It was fun as always.

Today morning my focus was on the chest and back. I followed the quadruplet version of the exercise.

Here are the quadruplets:

  1. 1-set of push-ups
  2. 1-set of weights for chest
  3. 1-set of weights for back
  4. 1-set of weights for triceps (alternated two exercises without weights)

I did a total of five quadruplets. I added one set of biceps and reverse push-ups at the very end. I am happy with the progress that I have made and the continuous progress that I am making. All the exercising sessions are quite a fulfilling experience. 😊

That’s it from me for today. I will keep you posted for more tomorrow.

Namaste!

And I wish you all a lovely day!

Did You Know?

George Hood of the US holds the record for abdominal planks. The record stands at 10 hours 10 minutes. The previous record-holder was Mao Weidong of China, who held the plank position for 8 hours and 1 minute.

Phew, even the previous record-holder wasn’t bad, in my opinion. My longest plank so far has been for a two-and-a-half-minute. That’s tiny in comparison to the record holders.

What was your best abdominal planks time?

Let me know in the comments.😊
