Weights: 16th May 2020 + A Did You Know Question

Good Morning

The weekend has arrived, and already the resting mode is on. I realize that we are working more through the week than we would have without the lockdown. That also shows how much more we can do and achieve.

Now, my idea of not stopping exercise for any day continues. So, I did get on with my regime. My daughter takes the weekend seriously. According to her, Saturdays and Sundays are rest days even for exercises. 😊 Well, I have nothing against it as she exercises five days a week and twice a day. Not bad for a ten-year-old, huh? You bet.

Let’s look at what I did today.

Yesterday evening was the shorter version of our evening exercise. Here is what my daughter and I did.

  1. Warm-up: About a minute
  2. Suicide drill: 3 sets
  3. Shuttle run: 1 set with 4 reps
  4. Dynamic abdominal plank: 45-seconds
  5. Burpees: 10
  6. Side planks: 30-seconds each side
  7. Rock-climbing: 45-seconds
  8. Reverse cycling: 30-seconds
  9. Reverse row-hold: 30-seconds
  10. Langdi

Although this is the shorter version of our evening exercise, the Burpees alone is a killer. That said, its effects are also impressive. Like always, we rounded up our evening regime with some Langdi time. 😊

Today morning the focus was on abs. I followed the triplet model and ended up doing about three sets of the triplets. Here they are:

  1. 1-set of crunches
  2. 1-set of reverse crunches
  3. 1-set of side planks for obliques

Today, incidentally, I watched a video by Christiano Ronaldo sharing his weekend regime (the coincidence!), and I picked up two exercises for the glutes and the lower back. I will add this regime with the abs regime and will update the next time as to how it went.

For now, that’s it, and I will see you tomorrow.

Namaste!

And wish you all a lovely day!! 😊

Did You Know?

I had posted earlier that George Hood of the U.S. holds the record for the abdominal planks. That record stands at 8 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds.

Here is a video of the man in action and receiving the Guinness Record certificate.

Watch and have fun:

Feeling inspired? Trying doing a three-minute plank to start with and then take it as much as you can go! 😊
