Weights: 1st July 2020 + A Did You Know Question

Good Morning

One of the things that I spoke about yesterday was to gift myself some heavier dumbells. Since the lockdown continues, there is no scope for the gym to open anytime soon, and so continuing exercise with my current dumbells was feeling a bit light.

So, to cut a long story short, I got myself a new pair of dumbells. Each weighs 12.5 kg, and it felt good using it today. I was on to my chest regime today, so I could go through with the weights all right. Now, I wonder how it would feel with other body exercises, especially arms and shoulder. That would be fun to figure out.

Anyway, let’s get to know about my regime.

Well, before I forget, I did not just buy dumbells, I also bought a resistance band of 35 pounds resistance. It is the base version which I first wanted to try out before progressing to stiffer bands. I will explain its use in my regime too.

So, coming back to today’s exercise, my focus was on chest and back. I followed the pentapulet version of exercise, meaning packing five exercises as one set.

Here are my pentapulets:

  1. 1-set of pushups
  2. 1-set of weights for chest
  3. 1-set of weights for back
  4. 1-set of weights for triceps
  5. 1-set of resistance band extension for back

I did a total of five pentapulets along with a set of biceps and reverse pushups at the very end. What made me happy was that I could do the same amount of exercise as before with the heavier weights, albeit a bit slower. There was nothing to complain, and I look forward to tomorrow morning.

That’s it for now. I will catch up tomorrow.

Namaste!

Also, I wish you all a great day!

Did You Know?

George Hood of the US holds the record for abdominal planks. The record stands at 10 hours 10 minutes. The previous record-holder was Mao Weidong of China, who held the plank position for 8 hours and 1 minute.

Phew, even the previous record-holder wasn’t bad, in my opinion. My longest plank so far has been for a two-and-a-half-minute. That’s tiny in comparison to the record holders.

What was your best abdominal planks time?

Let me know in the comments.😊
