Weights: 7th May 2020 + A Did You Know Question

Good Morning

Today was a bit of a test for me to check if I would stay focused on my schedule or not. I have to admit that I am running behind on a few of my work-related things and have to get going on them. I will be doing that after I complete this post.

Well, the test was on how I would tackle the work and exercise schedule. I did work this out in the morning and realized that I could do my work without interrupting the exercise schedule. That was a significant departure from my old ways. I would have let go off the exercise at the drop of a hat. Not so, this time and I am quite loving it.

Okay, now let’s get on to my exercise schedule.

Finally, lil Colonel and I got back to the evening exercise. For those that saw my previous post, the break was because of me, but we did well this time. We went for the longer version of our evening schedule.

Here it is:

  1. Warm-up: About a minute
  2. Suicide-drill: 2 Sets
  3. Shuttle-run: 1 set with 4 reps
  4. Jumping-jacks
  5. Wall-sits
  6. Push-ups
  7. Crunches
  8. Step-ups
  9. Squats
  10. Tricep Dip
  11. Planks
  12. High Knees
  13. Lunges
  14. Push-ups and Rotation
  15. Side Planks – each side
  16. Langdi

Each of the exercises, as usual, lasted for 30 seconds with a ten seconds break between them. And then fun time, in the end, was Langdi. I am starting to enjoy this more and more.

Now, today morning was supposed to be shoulders, but I thought of a small rejig to my schedule. Starting today, I will be alternating every other exercising regime with abs. What I mean is, today I did abs, and so day-after I will be doing it again and so on. All the other body exercises will be alternating with abs.

Let’s see how that goes. Here was my abs triplet.

  1. 1-set crunches
  2. 1-set reverse crunches
  3. 1-set weights for obliques (alternated with side planks)

I did five triplets and loved it. Now, since I also do planks, I had a question if I should be dedicating so much time for abs every week. But then again, while my abs are hard, there is still some work to be done on the lower part. Hence, the decision. Anyway, I will update on how effective was the decision in a couple of weeks.
