Weights: 8th May 2020 + A Did You Know Question

Good Morning

Yesterday was a marathon writing day, and I had many articles written across Steem, Hive, Medium and few other sites. Loved the experience, but most of all, figured out how to get my schedule worked out effectively.

Well, I spoke about this yesterday and how close I was to pass my exercise regime. Gladly, I not only did my exercise in the morning and evening but also got on with the writing. There is so much we can do if we apply ourselves; or, at least, myself.

So, how was my workout day looking like? Let’s find out.

😊

Yesterday evening was the shorter version of my exercising regime with my daughter. The only reason I end up puffing and panting is because of the burpees. So, it is a shorter version but the same intensity (or maybe more 😉).

Here is the lineup.

  1. Warm-up: About a minute
  2. Suicide drill: 2 sets
  3. Shuttle run: 1 set with 4 reps
  4. Dynamic abdominal plank: 45-seconds
  5. Burpees: 10
  6. Side planks: 30-seconds each side
  7. Rock-climbing: 45-seconds
  8. Reverse cycling: 30-seconds
  9. Reverse row-hold: 30-seconds
  10. Langdi

While both my daughter and I puff and pant, we still make time for our Langdi playtime. You can check out what Langdi is all about. We had fun!

Today morning was shoulder specific exercises. As usual, I got into the triplets mode. For those of you that do not know about the triplets, it is one of my ways of clubbing three exercises together and going through them without taking a break. There could be a break between triplets but not within triplets.

Let’s look at the shoulder triplets:

  1. 1-set Suryanamaskar (alternated with side planks)
  2. 1-set weights for shoulders
  3. 1-set weights for triceps

Traditionally, I always used to club biceps with shoulder but all through the last month-and-a-half, I’ve got triceps into the equation. It works well but makes you sweat a lot as the same muscle groups are used again-and-again in each triplet. I did a total of six triplets and would be increasing the number even further. Let’s see how that progresses. 😊

Alright, let me sign-off here and get on with my work. See you! Namaste!

And wish you all a lovely day!!

Did You Know?

Mario Silvestri of Italy holds the Guinness World Record for most burpees in a minute. He did 47 burpees in 60 seconds.

That’s almost three burpees every 4 seconds. Phew!

How do you fancy doing 47 burpees a minute? Or how many can you do in a minute? Let me know in the comments.
