So sad abuse is always around the corner in crypto (Sportstalk)

Sportstalk got ruined before it even really started...

A few individuals managed to ruin a great idea and new initiative on the Steem blockchain by @patrickulrich. He started a new condenser with its own token called SPORTS, that is made for sportslovers, the Sportstalk.social network.
How did these individuals ruin it?

The found a flaw in the design. They managed to edit some posts by them that were almost 7 days old and added the #sportstalk tag. That way they got loads of SPORTS tokens before anyone else and made themselves the whales of this chain, before it really could start. And this really sucks.

I really hope Steem-Engine and @patrickulrich can find a way to solve this, but it will be hard. Because by now they have dumped loads of these tokens on the market which were bought by unknowing people. And then there is the curation rewards on these posts that got paid out to people that upvote those posts. This is also already distributed, and wandering around there. Which also makes them whales in a pond full very small fish.

I am really disappointed about this, and am really pissed that such a great project gets destroyed by some morons, that think they will make a profit, but eventually will end up with a bunch of useless tokens...

I hope Sportstalk.Social gets a fresh new start!

Sincerely,

Pele23

Absolutely agree. I just set up a new account for my team to blog here and already its a pile of shit with everyone just adding the tag to any old post. Like the rest of Steem, just a cesspit of greed.

The best thing you can do right now is build up the people who are actually making sports content. I'll start making some sports-related posts for the site, help make the content that people want to see. Maybe talk about your favorite team, discuss their current standings? The sky is the limit here!

I found most posts pretty well fit at first, but then greed took over... I will keep posting though!

That is truly awful :-( The best thing Patrick can do, and I feel for him, is buy op all the tokens and put these grabbers on some sort of blacklist immediately to prevent them from getting more upvotes. PALnet has the'nopal4u' account which is (for now) the biggest account on palnet.io - specifically designed to be managed by a group of curators to downvote content that shouldn't get rewarded.

Damn it sucks if the good nature of people gets abused, I hate it. There is quite some time and money going into launching a project like this :-/

I know, but for what I have read now, I think it is going to get sorted out. So the network isn't dead!

I didn't know what happened here. I just got in this place three days ago.
This is a crypto space. So, human's selfishness is always one of the drives which form and change this place. We will see what will happen next. There will be many unexpected things will be waiting for us. And we are responsible for making this place habitable for all new comers.

personally I think people posting up to 4 times a day is sketchy but it's a free market, just think it's kinda unclassy, it's not a ruined platform...just new, op/ed
