Fantasy Premier League: Gameweek 2 Selections

The final tweaks have been made and I'm ready for Gameweek 2 of Fantasy Premier League.

Last week was a bit of a mixed bag for my team. Although I was pleasantly surprised that Ryan managed to accumulate 9 points in goal for a measly cost of 4.5, my midfield let me down massively for the most part.

This week, I've made one change up top. Aubameyang makes way for Vardy for the simple emotional fact that I prefer to root for top 6 teams other than Liverpool to lose. I feel that Vardy is a very good replacement as he's a longterm high scorer in the Premier League and also provides the bonus benefit of putting 2 points back into my bank.

Salah retains his place as captain in my team. Although Liverpool had to deal with extra time in the UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea on Wednesday, Southampton leaked goals for fun against Burnley last weekend and I feel that Salah has an opportunity to grab some more points early on. Likewise, van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold retain their places in defence.

I haven't made any other changes this week. The only cause for concern at the moment is Haller who appears to have picked up a knock and may not play. Having already used my single free transfer for the week, I'm going to take the risk of keeping him in the team and I hope that he'll make the first 11 this week regardless.
