Galatasaray HDI Sigorta Falls To Fifth Placed Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyesi In The 2019/2020 Turkish Men's Volleyball Championship
It is quiet unfortunate and disheartening how a high performing team would go on to become a shadow of itself within a very short time frame, especially in this part of sport. Such is the case for top turkish based men's volleyball team, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta who started the season with a buzz, destroying every team they encountered last year (2019) and as a result, ended the year as the championship leaders.
Fast forward to this year, they no longer look like the team that once had that hunger, fearlessness, confidence and drive going forward. They started the year in shambles and are not making the necessary changes and improvements in the overall performance of the team.
Galatasaray's latest 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-22) defeat to Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyesi (currently sitted at the 5th position on the championship standing) complicated matters for them and possibly, dashed their hopes/chances of lifting the trophy this year, making it a much more herculean task to accomplish. This defeat made it their number third this year 2020.
