How Manchester United missed the opportunity to join Aubameyang?

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been missed by Manchester United during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Gunners signed Aubameyang in the winter of 2018 for £ 56 million, at which time United were looking for a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to the newspaper "Metro" English, Aubameyang was among the goals of Manchester United, but retreated for several reasons, most importantly that he was 28 years old, and the club did not want to pay 56 million pounds to sign him.

The newspaper added: "Jose Mourinho former manager of Manchester United was skeptical about the ability of Aubameyang to lead the attack, and felt that he is not good enough."

Mourinho then decided to sign the Belgian Romelu Lukaku, but Aubameyang's scoring record for Arsenal has left the Manchester United administration questioning the validity of its decision on the Gabonese star.

Aubameyang has scored 49 goals in 77 games for Arsenal.
