When you took the initiative to support whitelist users, that was great. Now observing the situation, you make a change and support those great writers we are not aware of, that's awesome!

I really like your initiatives! Keep up the great work :)

I have tried to look at the new tab over two days. It is hard to find great posts...
It is challenging for me.

Yes, it is. I used to be a curator in some communities. Sometimes it takes more time to find a great content. And when you try to find content about some specific topics like sports, it becomes even harder.

The good news is, there are good writers. Let's see what happens after a month.

Honestly speaking, when some people spend a lot of time creating content, and they do not see much support, that's kinda disappointing. Some of them stop giving their best effort to make content. I think this is going to change when they see they get rewards for making good content and adding value.

This initiative is great, but it will definitely take you a little more time than automatic whitelist voting.

That is what I am currently experiencing.
It takes too long.

I admire your father side a lot. We should always put our children first in everything. About the whitelist I understand why to quit. Putting curated posts around here is a good alternative. Hope you find great posts.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. The idea of people manually looking for 'good content' to upvote and get curation rewards for it (even at 50/50) is an idea that simply doesn't work as is just way too time intensive. These platforms are a good way to find likeminded people which certainly has been the biggest positive about Steemit the 2+ years I have been active one it.

I would say most activity currently on Steeitm/sportstalk is 'post2mine' and 'upvote4upvote' with equal power accounts. Without any rewards, very little of the content would actually still exist.

I've been a sports(betting) blogger here for over 2 years now (It really helps to stay focussed on my Sports handicapping) and am/was quite skeptical of sportstalk and pretty much sold most I got at the start since it was clearly overvalued with the intention to buy back more later on which is what I'm doing right now. The @sportsvoter bot actually gives a good incentive, thanks for your generous delegation to that! The tool to multiply Sports upvotes compared to steem upvotes I found thanks to Asher now makes it possible to actually start curating a bit using steemauto. Making multiple accounts just for sports goes just a bit too far for me and makes little sense.

Anyway, enjoy the time you spend with your daughter! Here's my latest post: https://www.sportstalksocial.com/news/@costanza/2uzvtn-champions-league-betting-preview-or-club-brugge-vs-lask-linz

it makes a great sense of the current situation, but it is too bad.

Yes, it was quite easy actually. Thanks for the info again Asher!

The system is still quite broken though especially now where it has become impossible to upvote anyone who doesn't get their posts above 3$+ as you lose out on so many curation rewards. Add the fact that most guys in sportstalk only have SPORTS staked and it's almost mandatory to make a new account just for voting as I'm now at 750k SPOSTS staked buying some more. I really like the idea of auto-curation as I, just like many just don't have the time and honestly the interest for manual curation. I'll be having 10 days off from betting startig monday with some time to sort it all out.

Great initiative. However, the cost of curation is always a challenging, and requires collaboration within the community. I think it's good to publish the daily selected quality posts (editor's pick) like some tribes did (such as steemleo).

And I dislike some Actifit posts that gaming the system with self-voting, group voting, etc., which I just downvoted few today...
