Iran women watched live football first time in 40 years

Many Iranian women were inside the Tehran stadium to witness live football for the first time in 40 years.

Recall that shortly after 1979 Islamic revolution, Iran effectively banned her women from watching male-only live football as it's a sin to see half-clad men.

The price for the suspension of this repressive law against women folks was paid by a fan who set herself ablaze in protest against a possible prosecution after being caught trying to enter a stadium while disguised as a man.

This development attracted the attention of the world's football governing body, FIFA, which mount pressure on the regime to suspend its obnoxious law against women with a threat to suspend the Islamic regime from all sporting activities.

The pressure from FIFA was what made the regime caved in, following which more than 3500 women reportedly bought tickets to watch Thursday's World Cup qualifier game between Iran and Cambodia.

Thousands of women were seen cheering and blowing horns in excitement inside a Tehran stadium.

Freedom at last! Image a law! God have mercy on some leaders.

There is nothing like freedom. Someone had to set herself ablaze still on this matter of not allowing women watch football due to some religious denial reasons? Nice to see such law has been cancelled and the women have their freedom to watch
