Arsenal's second half performance sealed FA 4th round

Arsenal today showed a glimpse of what it was like to play under Emery. Today's first half match against Leeds was a typical Arsenal match under Emery.

Arteta for reasons known to him played our midfielder wide and they suffered for it. There was no clear communication in the midfield as we were dominated throughout by the Championship side.

That was evident by the number of shots they had in the first half. Leeds managed 12 shots while we recorded just 2. That showed how hard we were pressed and dominated by the Championship side.

The game changed in the second half as expected. We played with more intensity and compact. We pressed them right from the time the whistle was blown.

We had great chances from Reiss Nelson who later converted Lacazette's blocked pass to Pepe in the 55th minute to give us the lead we needed.

The match proceeded smoothly as we dominated the remainder of the 35 minutes in a match we should have dominated throughout the 90 minutes.

I will still give it to Arteta because he read the game well and made some tactical changes which saw same team that underperformed in the first half dominating the second half confidently.

Leeds were well restricted and their game plan was distorted by a team that was ready to improve on what they played in the first half.

This was a good match and one we need for our next match against Crystal Palace away. It is another match which we must win if we must keep our hope of top 4 alive in the Premier League.
