The Patriots are eliminated and I don't care

I really have nothing against the Patriots, they are more of a team that I have been indifferent towards even when they were playing the Bears in the 1985 Super Bowl where both teams made ridiculous music videos leading up to what would be a rather exciting final game.

The reason why I don't care is because like in any sport, I don't like it when any particular team remains dominant for as long as the Pats have.

In what was called "One and Done" as well as far more insulting things about the team, the New England season started out looking like what we all expected: Another dominant season. However, a lot of this started to fall apart towards the end of the season after they dropped losses to the Titans, the Chiefs, and most embarrassingly the Miami Dolphins. When the final loss happened the Patriots were no longer entitled to a bye in the first round of the playoffs despite having the best record in the AFC East.

The talk of my town for the Patriots was that while Brady is still one of the best in the game despite his age, he doesn't really have anyone to pass to other than Edelman and this is expected by every defense they encounter. This major problem with NE is evidenced in Brady having a rather lackluster completion percentage in the loss to the Titans at a mere 20-37 with 209 yards total. Despite throwing only 1 INT, these type of yards would normally be enough for most teams especially when you consider that the Titans had far fewer passing yards at just 72.

So why did they lose? I don't want to speculate fully, but it certainly can't be blamed on the defense who has allowed the least amount of points per game of any team in the NFL (just over 14 points.)

It could simply just be bad luck but to me, none of that matters.

I hate it, in any sport, when a couple of teams continually dominate the rankings. The NFL has certain safeguards in place such as salary caps and a draft system to prevent this, but dynasties such as New England have ways around this outside of the normal salary system.

That dude holding the sign that is yawning kind of says it all for me

When one team goes to the Super Bowl in 4 of the past 5 years and also wins 3 of those, I get tired of seeing the usual suspects in the big show. Therefore, despite the fact that I don't have any geographically related or team-rivalry-oriented "beef" with the Patriots, I do get bored of repetition in just about anything.

Therefore, sorry Tom, I am happy that you lost.
