F1 Austrian GP - Finally a true racing weekend?

(Edited)

Obviously, Ferrari had issues in data correlation from the wind tunnel, simulator and on-track behaviour, they found that out last week in France, and sorting that out - they look promising this weekend.

After a long time, we had Ferrari domination in qualifying. unfortunately, Vettel had cooling liquid problems and had to retire in Q3, so he qualified as 10th on the grid.

DSCF0750.JPG

Kvyat almost killed someone (read: George Russel), but his hot lap that he eventually fucked up, with a near miss in the final corner resulted him to qualify as P17. Few minutes earlier Hamilton impeded hot lap of Kimi Raikkonen, so he received a three-place grid penalty, and Sainz didn't bother getting into Q3, since he will be starting from pit lane due to the engine penalty. Given all of this together - Yesterday's qualifying we had lots of Exciting things, and both FP1 and FP2 brought out several crashes and damaged front wings. Magnussen also qualified superb 5th but due to 5 places penalty for gearbox change in FP3 he will start from 10th place.
Top 10 starting in several hours:

1 Lecler2 Verstappen
3 Bottas4 Hamilton
5 Norris6 Raikkonen
7 Giovanazzi8 Gasly
9 Vettel10 Magnussen

What can we expect from the race?

  1. Lightning start and slicing through the field from Vettel?

  2. An awesome battle between two Mercedes with Bottas leading the way and proper fight between them - I don't think so. But it is finally interesting to see Mercedes starting from the second row for the first time this year.

  3. Maiden victory for an awesome youngster? Lecler was close to getting his win in Bahrein but bad luck caught him out. Will this be his day? There is certainly no Vettel nearby, and team orders won't affect his race!

  4. First victory for Max Verstappen & RB Honda this year? We know Max has the ability and skill to start furiously. Can he provide lightning start and don't crack under pressure from Merc and Ferrari.

  1. PROPER RACING - Ferrari is starting their race on the soft compound, while Verstappen & Mercedes opted for start on medium - it's always nice to have different team strategies and for sure it promises an exciting race.

  2. Fight between McLaren and Alpha Romeo for 5/6th place or possible podium - no matter what place the fight will be for Austrian GP looks promising. And it was entertaining from FP1

If Ferrari get their act together with regards to compounds and pit stop strategy, I dont see why Leclerc can't get a start to finish win, especially with all manoevering in behind which is bound to end in incidents and accidents!
The lad is good, the Ferrari is fast enough and it sould be a nice change from Hamilton winning.
Going to be a decent race today I hope!

Yes :) Didn't want to sound too harsh but with Max around there is always a high probability of a crash - nowadays he is much more cautious, but still when involved first-place battle we can bet on the shines of an old Max :)
Anyways, wouldn't mind something similar to the last year's start - but I would bet on Safety Car this year at some point in the race, and with 30˚C and that pitch black asphalt :D some tires gonna be burned :D

Glad to see more people on here interested in F1 :)

Maxi, Maxi, Maxi....didn't need all that aggression when he could have taken him at any time. Immature driving and bad decision making again. I hope the stewards don't penalise him but he's put himself in a silly situation for nothing!!

In my opinion it wasn't fair move at all... but it was just on the edge - and with the rules and consistency he should be penalised... but after all - what a great race he had, and what a great finish.
What annoyed me is... 4 hours after the race you have no idea who the winner is... that's just shit in my opinion, and Liberty media making a show out of it just ruins the racing no matter what they say.
As Vettel said - burn the rulebook, simplify the aero package, especially the low front wings, and let the boys race.

Anyways it's a nice thing to see mclaren coming back to the top, renault should join them soon. But... with the consistent rules about cars smaller teams can understand them better and improve - don't change it as soon as they figure something out.

Great race nontheless! :D

Hi @svemirac

I hope you won't mind this comment (it's not really related in any way to your current publication).

I've been just wondering if you joined PALnet airdrop (PALnet is a token build on Steem-engine).

If you didn't claim it then perhaps I could ask you for small favour. Would you consider claiming your tokens and selling or delegating it to me for few months? I would obviously pay you some STEEM for those tokens (I can even pay for delegation - I want to invest some time and money into that platform).

How to claim your token?

a) login in http://palnet.io/ (it's build on STEEM blockchain, so you will use same login details)
b) login in steem-engine.com
c) claim your tokens -> to do that you need to open steem-engine.com and go to "wallet". In left-top corner you will have PALnet (blue colour) logo. Click on it and claim your PAL tokens.
d) go to your palnet wallet and either transfer your PAL tokens to crypto.piotr or STAKE it and delegate to me (click STAKE and then "advanced" and simply type in my username).

Amount of received tokens depend mostly on your current level of SP (I'm not sure if delegations are being taken into consideration as well).

So based on my current experience, if you have 200 STEEM POWER then you should be able to receive something around 100-150 PALnet tokens.
I would pay you 10 STEEM for purchasing each 100 of those PAL tokens. So basically you can earn something and help me grow on this particular platform, making both of us happy :) Plus you would sell/delegate those tokens without bringing down their current price (you won't need to dump them on exchange).

You would earn some extra STEEM and I would have higher STAKE in this platform.

I've only 500 STEEM I can spent on that purpose (plus airdrop will not last forwer) so HURRY UP :) :)

Cheers,
Piotr

Yeah right... How kindnof you, except on the exchange I would get 40 steem for 100 palcoins.

Hi @svemirac

Thank you for your prompt reply. Appreciate.

Well, I'm fully aware of that fact. Obviously I don't think that many people would like to make that deal with me and also I'm not really willing to invest in PAL paying current official prize.

So I'm mostly actually hoping to be able to "rent" some PAL tokens as delegation.

Anyway ...

I also wanted to make some suggestion.

My impression is, that the hardest part of attracting attention on STEEMIT is the fact, that our audience have very little chance to actually find our publications. Lack of solid notification system is an obvious issue. And regardless how hard I would try - there is very little chance I would find out about your new interesting publications (my feed is just flooded with to many posts).

Please allow me to share some suggestion with you. If you would ever publish content related to blockchain, crypto, artificial intelligence, psychology etc. then perhaps you could simply send me memo with link to that post.

This way not only I would have a chance to read your publication, but I will also upvote it right away with 20k SP voting power. If I would consider it interesting then I may also share it with wider audience.

Please let me know what do you think. This surely should sound like a interesting offer :))

Cheers, Piotr
