Weekends are for sporting actions!
What a great moto saturday we had!
MotoGP in Brno and a great F1 qualifying on Hungaroring.
My friend and companion from last year Hungaroring visit is now in Brno watching MotoGP, I could only witness it on TV - sadly... but heeey - here is a quick recap and a video.
On trainings we had a massive rain and slowly towards the qualifying track was drying slowly.
Q2 was still dumped with water - and basically we had wet conditions.
from Q2 to Q1 went through Zarco and Espargaro (KTM RB Factory Racing).
In Q1 there was chaos... Espargaro and Zarco were 1-2 again... but then Marquez went to the box for slick tires, followed by several other people including Jack Miller.
Marquez's first lap on slicks wasn't that fast, just testing the track and probing the limits... and then he unleashed the bist - fastest 1st sector - going to be fastest second.... WAIT- IT'S RAINING... it started raining again, we will have complete chaos - one of the few who opted to stay on wets was the Doctor #46.
But Marquez was lightning fast, picking up his bike from all the slippery corners, wiggling around - he was faster than Zarco by 1.5 seconds. Followed by Miller - not by much.
Then... Marquez continued for another fastest lap... Beating his own time again (on slicks in the rain) by another 1.45. He finished 1st, Jack Miller tried to get another lap - was pumping some spectacular times, but lost control and fell off. Still his previous lap was good enough to keep the second place.
Enjoy the video it starts at the last 3 minutes but you can see the greatest action of yesterday:
Now to F1...
Williams and Russel almost got into Q2, that was really fun. Also Renault messed up a bit strategy and release time for Ricciardo - and he ended up clashing with Perez (I don't like the guy at all) for starting position in the last corner - resulting in both drivers being stuck in Q3.
Giovinazzi blocked Stroll - and later on receiving 3 places grid penalty - will start from 17th(he qualified 14th)
Leclerc had shunted the barriers towards the end of Q3, but the team salvaged the rear end, and after the break he was good to qualify again.
Q2 - nothing new the leading 3 teams again opted for slower tires, just showing how faster they are than the rest of the grid - it is almost 5 races
Q1:
Big three + McLaren, Grosjean and Kimi.
Verstappen went to set up a fastest lap - but then Bottas had a great lap too... managing to get close, but not close enough ONLY 0.018s behind Max.
Ferrari had the quickest car in the first sector but other two were just slower and slower... losing up to 0.5s in the third sector.
Anyways thats it, here is the link to the qualifying highlights:
For the first time in F1:
Verstappen is on POLE! followed by two Mercedes(Bot &Ham), two ferraries, Gasly, Norris, Sainz, Grosjean and Kimi making out the top 10

Thats a really cool video. I could only watch the first one of the motoG racing. The second video would not work for me for some reason.
Thats incredible how fast they go on the motorcycles and crazy when they start wabbling from the slippery track. I'd be terrified doing that lol. They have a lot of skill. Its very impressive
Ah... F1 has a really strange policy :/ and youtube blocking countries, I realy hate that!
Completely crazy... 2 weeks ago there was a shot... measurement of a guy going into a corner 65˚ from the vertical... they almost defy laws of physics... CRAZY! :)
