Hardik Pandya Hopeful of Return During New Zealand Series
Hardik Pandya has not played any cricket since mid September. He, last played a match against touring South Africa in Bengaluru. He suffered a chronic back injury and as a result he was forced to sit out for some time. He has now undergone surgery and is expected to return during New Zealand series, sometime around February next year.
Hardik said that we thought this was the right time to perform the surgery as even if it takes me 4 months, I will be ready for the World Cup. He took this decision in consultation with the Indian team management.
If Pandya recovers by February, it will mean that he will play in New Zealand series as well as in the IPL. He will then have enough match practice for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He is a backbone of Indian middle order and he has won many matches by his aggressive batting, not to mention the fact that he is a decent medium pacer. India is very lucky to have a player like him as he pocesses all round abilities, be it his batting, bowling or even fielding.
