Rahul and Dhawan Shine as India Set a Huge Target of 202 Runs
In the ongoing three match t20 series, third match is being played today at Pune. After winning the toss, the Lankan skipper, Lasith Malinga choose to bowl first but his strategy hasn't worked so far as India have set a huge target of 202 runs for the visitors.
It was the duo who are competing for opening spot, Dhawan and Rahul who set the tone of this mammoth total. Rahul started attacking straightway and got India off to a flyer. Dhawan picked up his pace and started scoring freely and reached his fifty before Rahul. Rahul also went on to make a fifty before being stumped. The openers put on a partnership of 97 runs before Dhawan got out.
There was a small collapse as India lost three wickets in quick succession but captain Kohli and Manish Pandey made sure that India didn't miss on getting a big score. Kohli scored 26 runs before he was run out but Manish Pandey was there tilk the end of the innings.
A late flurry from Shardul Thakur meant that India scored 37 runs off the last two overs. Shardul Thakur played an excellent cameo of 22 runs off just 8 balls while Pandey remained unbeaten on 31 runs.
