While the ongoing test match between the hosts, Australia and the visitors, Pakistan will always be remembered for David Warner's triple ton but another player from Australia broke a record which hasn't received the appreciation it deserves. Steven Smith became the fastest player in the history of test cricket to score 7000 runs. He accomplished this record when he scored his 23rd run.

Smith took just 126 innings to reach this milestone surpassing Wally Hammond who had achieved the same feat in 131 innings. There are a few other great named including Virender Sehwag,Sachin Tendulkar, Gary Sobers, Kumara Sangakara and Virat Kohli who have achieved this feat in less than 138 innings. Smith also went past the legendary, Don Bradman who had scored 6996 test runs for Australia.

Smith is currently at number 1 spot in the test rankings and he is regarded as the best test batsmen of the modern era. He is still young and has the capability to achieve much more in his career.
