18 Consecutive League Wins, You Simply Cannot Rule Out Liverpool Until the Final Whistle.

Liverpool hosted West Ham in an EPL match day 27 fixture yesterday. While the home side probably thought they were in for a fun time on the pitch, the visitors were not there to joke. They knew that they wouldn't have so many opportunities to score, but they were ready to make the best of every chance they got.

West Ham's Issa Diop leveled scores in the 12th minute after Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum initially opened scoring 3 minutes earlier. With the scores level, they entered the midpoint of the match.

West Ham's manager decided to spice up the match by introducing Pablo Fornals only two minutes into the second half. Anfield soon saw the miracle of that substitution, when Fornals quickly guided a pass from Rice past Allison.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané soon scored to complete Liverpool's come back. Salah scored the equalizer in the 68 minute and Mané sealed the match result with a goal in the 81st minute. The relentless Liverpool team would have doubled the lead in the dying minutes, save for Mané who was caught in an offside position.

Liverpool remain clearly on top of the EPL table with 22 points clear of Manchester City. They have won all 18 consecutive league matches, matching Manchester City's 2017 record. A win against Watford in the next fixture will see them breaking this record. Likewise, they have won 21 consecutive home league matches, also equalling their own 1972 record of highest consecutive home wins.

The more wins they secure, the more records they keep breaking, and this Liverpool team have their gaze firm on the price, nothing seems strong enough to distract or stop them. With 11 more games to be played this season, Liverpool will lift the trophy with only four more wins at the most.

They have waited 30 years for this, and it has been a hell of a wait. Winning now looks good on them.
