Manchester City Destroys Villa Park, Overtakes Leicester City

The EPL match between Aston Villa and Manchester City yesterday ended in a massive 6-1 victory for the visitors, who have fought so hard to advance on the league table. Leicester City's home loss to Southampton further gave Manchester City a free ride past them to occupy second spot on the league table.

Riyad Mahrez opened the scores for City in the 18th minute, followed by another on the 24th minute. Sergio Aguero scored an hat trick after his shots found the back of the net in the 28th, 57th and 81st minutes. Gabriel Jesus also put himself on the score sheet with a last minute goal just before the first half was brought to an end. Villa's only "consolation" goal came through an injury time penalty scored by Anwar El Ghazi.

As it stands, Manchester City stands at second position on the EPL table with 47 points from 22 matches, two points ahead of Leicester City, and 14 behind Liverpool, who still have a pending league match against West Ham. It is the deciding half of the season and each team is expected to play each match with the best legs, the right attitude, and hope for every bit of luck they can get.
