Tennis star Dominic Thiem, who already booked a spot in the ATP semi finals after defeating Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer loses a match to Matteo Berrettini on Thursday. The scuffle was a little flat, as Thiem had almost nothing to lose in the finals, whatever the match result was. Though he is out of the ATP finals already, with this win, Berrettini who was formerly ranked below 50 has gotten a leap that will land him in eigthth position at the end of the season.

Thiem will be joined in the semi finals by Roger Federer who defeated Novak Djokovic in their 49th meeting last night. The court was lit by performances that gave Federer 6-4 6-3 win. Federer's win over Djokovic means Raphael Nadal will retain his number one spot in the game.

After his first defeat to Federer in four years, Djokovic describes the match as a bad one for him. "He was the better player in all aspects, I have the utmost admiration for him. What he's still showing on the court is phenomenal." Djokovic admits about Federer.
