There were great players who pulled waves during their era.
If I were to pick, I would pick Xavi Hernandez not because I'm a Barca fan but because he was phenomenal during his days. He and Iniesta were the soul of Barca back in those days. Although many people argue about who is better between him and Iniesta but I think Xavi is a better player

David Batty. Defensive midfielder whose distribution was incredible. Underated and a quiet guy who kept out of the spotlight. Total class
David Barry was a great defender too but unfortunately, he was an underrated player
