Quitter’s Day is upon us. It’s the date most athletes break their New Year’s resolutions – January 19.

START STRONG, STAY STEADY

I have no intention of making today my "quitters day". Its been a while since I gave an update to how my weight loss and running has been going, so I'll share a few of my latest runs and my thoughts:

There's no hiding the fact that my times have slowed down. In fact they've slowed down by more than 30 seconds per mile.

I'm very confident to say that this is completely down to the weight I put on over Christmas.

Thats not to say that the weight gain has stopped me getting out and running, only that it's slowed me down.

Ive managed to cover nearly 300miles since November and I'm delighted with that. There were a few 10mile runs, and before December, they were pretty decent too.

So, yeah... My weight gain!! I comfortably put on 1 & 1/2 stone(21lb) overr the festive period and its goi g to take me a while to shift it.

Why is it weight goes on easy and fast, but takes forever to come off??
