The weekend was filled with a lot of thrilling moment in the fierce League Title battle that continues in the Premier League. The two top contenders last season proved they are up to the task once again this season. They displayed a similar type of superb performance by coming from behind to take the lead and winning the match.

Manchester City welcomed Southampton to City of Manchester Stadium in what is supposed to be their second meeting in less than six days. They locked horns on Tuesday, 29th in the Carabao Cup and it ended with three goals to one in favor of the Cityzens. Otamendi opened the scoring sheet while Sergio Aguero was superb by registering a brace in the 38th and 56th minutes respectively. In the 75th minute, a consolation goal was scored by J. Stephens to deny C. Bravo of a clean sheet.

In a match that seems like a revenge between Manchester City and Southampton, J. Ward-Prowse of Southampton was on the score sheet in the 13th minute after tapping a rebound from Armstrong's attempt at goal. The goalkeeper, Elderson should have done better, but the wet pitch condition could be blamed. Every attempt by City to get back into the game was frustrated by the Saints as the First Half ended, Man City 0 - 1 Southampton.

It took the defending Champion 70 minutes to net an equalizer. Thanks to a Sergio Aguero genius for being at the right place at the right time. He continues the onslaught where he stopped during the Carabao Cup. K. Walker provided a pinpoint low pass from the right flang which was equally welcomed by a classic first time touch by Aguero. What a way to get back to business.

In the 86th minute, Walker who was involved in the first goal got the match winning goal. A top notch cross was delivered by Angelino to the long stretched legs of Walker who nudge in a tap-in to turn the atmosphere in the City of Manchester to a celebratory one for the hosts.

The match ended City 2 - 1 Southampton.

How do you like your comebacks? I guess just like stars do.

The Mánchester City vs Southampton match isn't the only one that was characterized by a comeback in the Premier League actions of yesterday. The Reds also displayed one against Aston Villa with two late second half goals. Check my next post for update on it.
