Rockets renew contracts with Rivers and House Jr.

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey announced Wednesday the continuation of base Austin Rivers and guard Danuel House Jr., who arrived at the team started last season.

Rivers signed as a free agent with the Rockets on December 24 and played 47 games to get averages of 8.7 points; 2,3 assists; 1.9 rebounds and 28.6 minutes.

The 26-year-old, son of coach Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers, with whom he spent several seasons, came out 13 straight starts and averaged 11.6 points; 3.8 assists; 2.7 rebounds and 38.1 minutes.

When Rivers, selected with the number 10 by the New Orleans Hornets in the 2012 college draw, managed to surpass 10 points of contribution, the Rockets had a 15-5 and 9-1 winning mark if it exceeded four assists.

While House Jr., a native of Houston, at the beginning of last season was called the development league and in the 39 games he played with the Rockets, 13 starts, he averaged 9.4 points; 3.6 rebounds and 25.1 minutes.

House Jr. with at least 2.5 baskets of three points per game became one of the Rockets' most effective players on outside-the-field shots with 47.1 percent accuracy.

The Rockets were 10-3 with House Jr., who averaged 11.2 points; 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in addition to 50 percent of hits in field goals and 48% of treble.
