Bozzlife: Fantasy season is here!

This is actually one of my favorite times of year. One of my favorite things to do on Saturday and Sunday is lay on the couch and watch some football. It might be a little less than normal this year just to appease @mrsbozz.

Now, I know that the Fantasy bandwagon has reached out to include many more sports than just American Football. I once found myself in a fantasy baseball league and talk about having a second job... It was non stop checking your roster and making moves to ensure that you had the best shot of winning. With players being moved up and down all the time it was kind of a nightmare.

I was lucky enough to win at fantasy baseball one season, but my luck hasn't been as good with fantasy football. I am in a league with my inlaws and each of us has one team. There are only eight of us total, so it makes for some interesting rosters. At the end of the season whoever is the champion the other seven people have to each buy the winner a fifth of some beverage they would enjoy.

This past year, @mrsbozz and I combined our debt to get her brother one bottle of something a little nicer instead of two bottles of the bottom shelf stuff. Needless to say, he enjoyed it very much.

I am hoping this year will be the one that @mrsbozz or I can have a little more luck and perhaps even make it to the finals. We went in the other day and setup our pre-draft rankings and on Friday I am going to initiate the draft.

Do any of you play fantasy football? What did you do for your pre-draft rankings? Do you even bother messing with them? I had Mahomes as my quarterback last year and he ended up being my best player. I am hoping to pick up a good running back this year like Kamara. @mrsbozz had L. Bell last year, but since he sat the whole season it was a huge disappointment for her.

Maybe next week I will write another post with my roster once the draft has taken place. I made some changes to our lineups this year allowing for a Tight End/Running Back/Wide Receiver position. I also added an Injured Reserve spot. It is nice to be able to place a player there while you figure out while you are going to do next. Sometimes just placing them on the bench can still give you issues with your roster count.

Due to the size of our league there are usually plenty of replacements to pick from, but it's nice to be able to hold onto one of those players that got hurt but might come back a little longer.

Good luck to everyone that participates in fantasy football. I hope you own your league!

To answer your question no I have never taken part in any fantasy league of any sort, perhaps if there was one for rugby I may be more likely to give it a go, but i really do not know enough about football or baseball

You haven't done the draft yet? Y'all better hurry. Season starts in 5 days. Who you got in mind for your squad?

I had it run at 8:30 last night. I am not super happy with my roster. I got Bell but I am not sure how he is going to be after sitting last season. I wanted Mahomes but I didn't get him. Wentz is my main QB but I think he might be a bit rusty too after being injured last season.

Bell was my first round pick and to be honest with you I am so out of the game (due mostly to time zones) that i didn't even know who he was. I was just using an online cheat sheet. I did get Mahomes but my veteran fantasy pals are telling me that great players from the previous year rarely do so again. We'll see. At the end of it all it just encourages me to give a crap about the results i guess.

The only games that we can watch at a reasonable time over here are the night games on the west coast... well, unless we want to stay up all night on Sunday.... some of my crew do that but if i do, it screws up Monday night and probably Tuesday as well.
