It's Going to Be a Long Season for Bears' Fans
I thought last week was bad... until I watched this dumpster fire today. In a remarkable turn of events, the Bears actually looked worse today than they did last Monday night. At least last week they played fairly well for 29 minutes. This week they played well for about 0 minutes.
Every bears fan for the next 4 months.
Today the Bears lost 52 - 21 against the Detroit Lions. To be honest, they were lucky they didn't give up 70 points. Part of that may have been due to the fact that Lions coach Dan Campbell and Bears coach Ben Johnson are very close friends. The Lions could have scored every time they touched the ball in the second half but mercifully the Lions decided to run the ball and the clock. The bears did the impossible, the lost by 31 points and the game wasn't even that close. They never had a chance.
Last week every phase of the game was terrible for the Bears. The offense, defense, special teams and coaching all crapped the bed. So today they actually made an improvement because their punter had a good day. I can't point to as many obvious coaching mistakes as last week, but they were clearly there. You don't get 8 penalties without there being some coaching problem. You also don't let a team drive down the field untouched to end the half if you are well coached (this exact thing happened last week as well). And the defense gave up 52 points so obviously they sucked. But my biggest concern is the offense... specifically QB Caleb Williams.
It is important to note I am not a Caleb hater. I desperately want him to do well and gave him a complete pass for last year as he was being "coached" by a gaggle of clowns. I do not care about his painted nails, fashion choices or seemingly too cool for the room press conferences. I just want him to be the first franchise QB the Bears have ever had.
Instead of a franchise QB, today is the first time I feared that the Bears have the second coming of Jay Cutler. Just like Cutler, Williams is one of the most athletically gifted QBs on the planet. He can make every throw. he can scramble. He has a cannon for an arm. But here's the problem, Cutler relied on that talent so much that he was uncoachable. He would not listen to anyone about setting his feet or improving his throwing motion. He got by most of his life by just being so much better than everyone else. But when you get to the NFL, literally everyone on the field is the best player anyone in their neighborhood has ever seen. They are all athletic freaks. the thing that separates the winners from the losers is their brain and desire to improve. Cutler clearly had none of that. If you need evidence, just look at the fact that in 12 NFL seasons, he has 1 more playoff win than I have and he has only 2 more appearances than I have. Remember when I said losers... I rest my case on Cutler.
I never really made this comparison until this week. After two of the slowest developing and worst QB sneaks I have ever seen on back to back plays, Caleb Williams went to the sidelines. His coach Ben Johnson started coaching him. Williams couldn't wait to get away from that coaching to go sit by himself. That scared the shit out of me. That is Jay Cutler stuff right there.
Luckily Caleb Williams is only 19 games into his NFL career. There is still plenty of time for him to prove he wants to get the most out of his incredible talent. I just hope he starts proving it starting tomorrow.
I was watching some NFL results because sometimes I make my bets and well when I saw that result I thought almost the same thing, a terrible season if they don't improve enough awaits the Bears. Last week they were fighting in the game but this time nothing worked out but I really hope they can improve so you don't feel so sad my friend.

I'm not much of a sports gambler but here's a tip... don't bet on the Bears! LOL
Although this defeat was very hard due to the game shown and the result, they can use it as inspiration to improve in the following weeks and cause many surprises in the season that is just beginning, so don't be sad, there is room to improve and they will surely do it, but you do have to work hard.

It's really a tough time for Bears fans. I also think that the problem is not just the defense or coaching, but also the mentality and willingness to learn of Caleb Williams. If he has talent but can't use it, then the story of disappointment will come up again and again. But I think there is still time and he still has to prove that he is not only talented but also has the desire to learn or improve. Thank you for raising such an important issue. Best wishes.
I like how you balanced the frustration with a realistic path forward. It’s still early, and improvement is possible.
Try being a Carolina Panthers supporter 😭. I know how you’re feeling but we still support nevertheless 😎
I feel your pain.
😭😭
The Bears seem to be cursed with QBs ...they can have all the talent in the world and still find a way to mess it up. Did you ever see those smokin Jay Cutler memes back in the day? They would just photoshop cigs into any photo with him in it. It always fit! The guy never seemed to give a damn, win or lose.
Smokin' Jay Cutler! I was actually thinking of adding that all Caleb Williams needs is a cigarette.
Haha smokin Caleb Williams doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but he should definitely try something to get his focus back.

Thank you so much I really appreciate sir thank you for your vote I really need it more wisdom 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️💯
I already said this in my other comment, but I do think Johnson will get better. Unless he is just destined to be a line coach. I think a lot of people were expecting more from the QB. Isn't he the guy that came from Ohio State? I've never really been a Goff fan. I'm still not to be honest. I mean, did you see him try to jump in the stands? It was like watching a fish flop around in a boat. I think Chicago looked good for at least three minutes there at the beginning.
Oh yeah there were those 3 minutes. I should just replay those 20 times lol.
Excellent.
That game was really hard to watch. The defense was terrible and Caleb Williams still has a lot to prove. Feels like it’s going to be another long season for us Bears fans.
This moment is the saddest for the fans when the team is not performing, especially when there is a fight within the team and some people do not perform well even because they are not getting enough money, thinking that next time we will get more money, we will work hard and in all these things, the heart of the fans is broken
