The Bears are Giving Me Hope... and Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope can drive a Bears fan insane.
Ok. It looks like I'm going to have to get used to nerve wracking Bears wins... poor me.

After lasts week's insane roller coaster ride of getting up big, completely blowing it (including losing an onside kick) and then completing a 58 yard pass to win the game in the last seconds, the Bears have done it again... but with a twist.
This time, instead of the Bears toying with their fans' emotions and building up a big lead just to blow it before storming back, they decided to be a little more efficient and just do the storming back at the end part. The Bears never had a lead after early in the second quarter... until their was 1:47 left in the game.
During the entire middle of the game the bears looked terrible. The Bears couldn't stop Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart (cool name spelling by the way) in the air or on the ground. He threw for 199 yards in the first half and also had about fifty yards and two rushing touchdowns before the Bears concussed him and caused him to fumble in the Red Zone. With the momentum swinging and their entire offense on the sideline (yes Dart was literally their entire offense) the Bears got some stops and were only trailing by 10 with about 5 minutes left in the game.
At this point, I'm pretty sure all Bears fans just want to fast forward to the last 5 minutes of the game in order to see what Caleb Williams is going to do. Last week we got to see Caleb Williams use his arm and legs to give the Bears a go ahead touchdown. This week we got to see Williams use his arms and legs to close the gap with a touchdown and then take the lead with a 17 yard scramble for the go ahead touchdown.

When it was all over, Caleb Williams threw for 220 yards, 1 touchdown pass and no interceptions. He ran for another 63 yards and a touchdown. Sadly, unlike last week, he did not catch any touchdown passes. As a Bears fan, I can tell you I have no idea how to respond to that kind of success from a quarterback. This team has never had a good quarterback let alone a great one. It is the only team in the NFL that has never had a quarterback throw for 4000 yards in a season. And 4000 yards isn't even the bar anymore. Now it seems every year a guy throws for 5000 yards.
Even though Caleb Williams made about 6 or 7 (yeah I wrote that) mistakes and his receivers dropped another 6 or 7 passes (why not double down) they are still improving. The Bears are doing one of teh most difficult things to do in the NFL. They are winning while they are learning. Due to the train wreck that the Bears' "coaching" staff was last year, it was a complete waste for Williams. The fact that he wasn't killed or just completely rattled and broken is actually a miracle. Williams may continue to make inexperienced mistakes, but no one can say he isn't physically and mentally tough.
Caleb crawled to freedom through five hundred yards of shit smelling foulness I can't even imagine, or maybe I just don't want to. Five hundred yards... that's the length of five football fields, just shy of half a mile . . . and came out clean on the other side.
Although Williams still has a ways to go before he reaches the football equivalent of Zihuatanejo, at least I have hope. And Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
Lets just hope the Bears can keep that hope from dying.
Sitting right behind the Lions now in the rankings....
This is a real dilemma for me now. I’ve been rooting for the lions because the bears have sucked so a lions win didn’t cost me anything. But now it’s an actual competition. I don’t know what to do lol.
That's definitely a tough one. Good news is you still have a few more weeks before you need to lock in!
The way you have found hope in the midst of despair is truly inspiring to me. And Caleb Williams' performance is undoubtedly giving new confidence to all the fans.
As a Bears fan, I can totally relate to this. The ups and downs are never ending. Caleb Williams really showed some heart in that comeback, even after a rough start. It gives a bit of hope for the future, but it’s still hard not to worry about what’s coming next in the season.
Of course, my friend, the Bears will keep that hope alive for their fans. Their performances have been somewhat inconsistent, but we must always remember that they are a team in development with a majority of rookies. Best of luck, and keep working hard to reach the promised land, at the very least.
That game was a real rollercoaster, Caleb Williams really showed some promise out there. Even with all the chaos, it feels like there’s finally some hope for the Bears’ future.
Their fans have a lot to be excited about. The Bears are improving little by little, so that's the most important thing, and nobody can take that away from them. What we see is the fruit of teamwork; most of them are young and have a lot of room for improvement, both the players and the coaches.
