Novak Jokovic: "Federer inspires me"

After the long (and probably the biggest) game in history, he did so: for the fifth time in his career, and for the second time in a row, Novak Jokovic is the new champion of the Wimbledon. The world's first-ranked Serbian beat Roger Federer on Sunday to win the Grand Slam 16th and beat the Swiss at the top of the win.

"If it was not the most thrilling and exciting, it certainly was in the top 2-3 of my career," said the excited winner at the end. "I used to say that when I was a boy of four or five, I dreamed of being a tennis player, that this is the tournament I want most to participate in and win."

And, as befitting the status (and branch), the place of gentlemanhood was also absent from the reaction to the game. "I played against one of the best players of all time," the Serbian said of Federer, "and I respect him very much, Roger said he wanted to give people a belief that it could be done at the age of 37, so I'm one of them.
